Additional Items
Many of our Standard Data Search Packages allow you to add Additional Items, such as 10km High Flying Bats to our 5km Package. So if you're not able to find what you want, please choose the most appropriate package and use the Additional Items button when setting up your location. This will be added to your package choice and calculate a new cost.

Custom Searches
Although you can specify a Custom Search or add some custom notes using the Additional Items button, custom searches usually take time to agree and are no cheaper than our Standard Data Search Packages, so we will always recommend these. For example, if you request bats only at 1km we will recommend our 1km standard package, as the way the way the data are presented will allow you to filter for just what you need.

Where we carry out a data search and no species are found we will charge an administration fee of £15 + VAT, however we will send you any site and habitat data.

Several of our Data Request Types may be non-chargeable. These include Public, Academic and Partnership requests. Where we have a prepaid agreement with an Ecological Consultant, the Chargeable pre-paid request type isn't chargeable. Please contact us if you wish to know more about setting up a prepaid agreement.

Public requests are fulfilled through the following package:

• Package P – No Charge: 1km Public Search - species list – Around your house

Please use Aderyn before submitting a Public data request, as this will give you access to the same data, and we may direct you there anyway.

Academic requests will need to be verified by us, usually by giving proof that you are studying or researching at University or College and that your request is linked to your academic studies or research. Requests for Wales-wide data can be submitted to us and we will liaise with the other Welsh LERCs or you can use Aderyn to access publicly accessible data.

Partnership requests are specifically for those who have pre-agreed data request methods, such as Service Level Agreement (SLA) or other agreement holders or those who are directed by us to use this data request type.

You can request data at any time, but we will usually only deal with your request between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

• Standard Data Search Packages will be dealt with within one working day, however you will usually receive your data request results within two hours.
• Custom Data Requests will usually be responded to within one working day. This may be longer depending on our workload and the complexity of the request. We will only deliver search results usually within one working day of agreeing your requirements and the price quoted.

Once we have processed your data request we will send the results by email, which will either include a link to our online mapping tool eMapper or for 'Public' requests a link to an Excel Spreadsheet. Occasionally we may send data in Excel or GIS format.

eMapper is our easy-to-use online mapping tool which includes the following features:

• Interactive mapping of species, habitats and sites on a range of base maps including OS 1:25,000 maps, Aerial Photos or Phase 1 Habitat Survey Maps
• Customisable display of species records and sites, allowing you to create and print your own map
• A range of easy-to-use filters to select data by year, distance or resolution, or to create a simple species list
• Display data using our 'Public' or 'Confidential' display modes and download records in PDF, Excel or Shapefile formats

What data are included?
With the exception of Public data requests, our reports may include sensitive species records, the use of which is governed by our Terms and Conditions, following guidance and the list of species defined by Natural Resources Wales (NRW).

Our Standard Data Search Packages include the following data:

• Protected & Priority Species: Species with European and/or UK Legal Protection, Section 7 (Environment Act Wales 2016) Species, UK BAP Priority Species, Global Red List, British Red Data Book, Nationally Rare & Scarce, RSPB Red and Amber Birds, Welsh Vascular Plant Red Data List, Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP) Species, Locally Important Species as identified by local experts
• Invasive Non-native Species (INNS): Using a list of species defined by NRW
• Habitats: Phase 1 Habitat Survey summary statistics and base maps
• Statutory sites: Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Special Protection Areas (SPA), Special Areas of Conservation (SAC), National Nature Reserves (NNR), Local Nature Reserves (LNR)
• Non-statutory sites: Local Wildlife Sites (in other areas known as SINCs), Regionally Important Geodiversity Sites (RIGS)
• Other Data: Wildlife Trust Reserves, RSPB Reserves, Ancient Woodland, Scheduled Ancient Monuments, Listed Buildings

Our Bat & Roof-nesting Birds Package includes bat species, habitats and sites and the following bird species, identified as using roof spaces, eaves or holes in walls:
Barn Owl, Black Redstart, Blue Tit, Collared Dove, Great Tit, Herring Gull, House Martin, House Sparrow, Jackdaw, Kestrel, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Little Owl, Peregrine, Pied Wagtail, Spotted Flycatcher, Starling, Swallow, Swift, and Wren

For Chargeable data requests an invoice will be sent by email once the request has been fulfilled. If the invoice needs to be sent to someone other than yourself (e.g. Accounts Department) you can create a billing contact as part of the data request. If your company uses a specific email address to which invoices should be sent (e.g. invoices@), please ensure this is also specified in your request.

If your company uses Purchase Order Numbers, please ensure that you obtain one before making your request, otherwise this can cause delays.
